Grand Prix Series

A distinguishing feature of the 3.7 class is a racing calendar consisting of various events at a number of different venues throughout the season. The Grand Prix championship records the results of those who attend these events. The Grand Prix series consists of all events on the Racing Calendar, excluding the national championships.
Each contestant gains points for every race sailed. First place in each race receives points equal to the number of entrants, down to last place always receiving one point. This points system has the flexibility necessary for a series with large variations in attendance and fleet size, and also recognises the increased difficulty of performing well in a larger fleet. It also allows contestants to gain points from racing only part of a multiple race event.

The Grand Prix Trophy is awarded at the end of each season for "consistency and performance" to the skipper with highest points from their best 25 races.
